Journaling

So, for my birthday this year, I decided to start journaling. I have things I need to work out inside my head and I think that this is a good way to do it. I know that this blog is a lot like journaling, but (no offense), I don't think that I know most people that read this well enough to write everything I feel down. Someday, I do hope to get there. I'm really enjoying this blog. It's a fun idea. Anyway....

I don't really know what to write in my journal. I don't know where to start. I thought maybe some of you could help me out with this if you journal. I really want this to become a major thing in my life. I would love to look back 20 years from now, *sigh, ahh 20 years!*, and think x is the reason that I've done y in my life. Figure out what has led me to the decisions I will make.

I know this blog isn't very long, I'm just looking for some ideas. Feel free to toss some around and all that good stuff ;)

I use to keep a joural as a teenager, and it really helped me to work things out for myself. Life has gone on and I had gotten so busy that I left-off doing this. I really got out of the habit of it. I think that is why this blog in class has been a good thing, for me and others out there like me.

I read a thing the other day that this woman made a point to write at least one sentence every day about her children. She would write funny things they said or did so that those little moments would never be forgotten. Just a thought :)

I do write much down that happens in my day to day life, but my wife does. She keeps a calendar that has what we did over the weekend or little things like what night we mowed the lawn.. You might think that sounds a little dumb, but it has won her a bet a time or two. We bet one day who mowed the yard the most last year. I just knew i did, but she had her calendar to prove me wrong. I guess my point here is to put what you feel is important at the time you are writting in your journal. I am sure over time you will feel more comfortable about what you are saying and have sme very meaningful thoughts.
Good luck and happy writting.
