I'm Blogging?

Wow. It's been two years.

Everything changes in two years. Everything.

I've kept up with a couple of people, silently. But I have!

In two years I have

...gotten married

...moved in with my husband

...still work at the garden

...become a makeup enthusiast

...adopted another cat

...fallen in love with Eureka Springs, AR with a few trips there

...who knows what else.

Pictures of life lately

Ok I lied, they're mostly pictures of my wedding. But oh well! A couple were of makeup too. Oh and the cat we got. Her name's Malley.
I don't have much else to add right now.

Maybe I'll see you later.

These are My Day Savers

So yesterday I tried to post a really whiny post on how much my blog sucks right now. My internet decided not to work as I tried to hit publish. That's probably a good thing. Because I read it again tonight, and jeez I sounded like an asshole. But that's neither here nor there.

All I want to say is that I don't enjoy this space as much as I used to. And that makes me feel all the sads. I still get excited about it, but at the same time, I'm not receiving much feedback. I have my besties who always comment and I love them so much for it, but I would like to hear from other people too. Lezbehonest, everybody wants to open their email and see some new comments from people. And if you say you don't, I'm judging you and probably giving you some dirty look. When the comments stop coming, the blog starts lacking. I know that's also my issue though. I don't really have any great material right now. I just can't think of anything original or "good enough." I know I'm my harshest critic but I feel that if I don't think something on my blog is great, than you probably don't either. That needs to change like yesterday. So throw me a bone...help me find my way back here. I want to be here.

Now that I've got that out of the way, I feel better.

I had a shitty night at work last night. I don't wanna talk about it but it made me think, there are things in life that were created for servers who have a shitty night at work. And it's my job to tell you about them. So here we go.

1. Booze
Seriously after you've been yelled at, put up with annoying children, put up with elderly people who just don't understand how things work, and shitty tips...you can always rely on the bottle to pick you back up. You've seen Waiting right? Servers really do go out to the bar to drink off a long day.

2. Shoe insoles
We stand up. Allllll day. And we continuously walk around. A good pair of insoles can make even the worst days better. But those bitches wear out way to fast. Seriously after 4 weeks I need new ones. And I'm too cheap for new ones. So if you want to send me some I'll love you forever.

3. DVRS
I know, you think they were made for you. Nope, no way, wrong. They're made for people who work nights and don't get to watch good TV until after it's been on for everybody else to see. After a long, maybe kinda shitty day at work, I get so excited when I come home and realize all my favorite shows were on and I can watch them without commercials! Hahaha suckers, no commercials for this girl.

4. A Sense of Humor
Because after a long day at work, when you're out boozing it up with other servers, you gotta laugh at that one idiot server who just sucks. Or the asshole customers and the evil shit you might have done to them. Or the fact that you're getting made fun of and you need a quick comeback.

5. Beds
Obviously. After a long night sometimes all you want to do is curl up in a ball and taste your own salty tears while Netflixing your life away. Not that I'd know or anything. There's nothing that your favorite blanket and big pillows can't cure. If you don't love your bed that much, there's something wrong.

I just love this song. And it makes me happy. Which I need after a long day at work!

Give Me A Little Inspiration

Here recently, meaning all summer long, I've had nothing to blog about. I've racked my brain and sent countless texts to Jordan telling her how I have nothing. No new fresh ideas, no exciting pictures, not even a little "about me" post for all my new cupcakes. Which, I promise to do...someday.

Just basically I have no blogging inspiration.

She's told me that I just need to go with the flow, I'm over thinking it, and sometimes I'm too hard on myself. And I have to agree, I need to realize all of those things.

So when two powerhouses team up for a link up about inspiration for blogging, what the hell do I even write about? I don't know how Sarah and Helene do it everyday. But they always have something. So major props ladies.

It seems to me that my material is a bit stale sometimes. And I get all depressed-crybaby mode on everyone around me. It's just that I really want to post for you guys and someday maybe be a powerhouse! But without post inspiration, that's not gonna happen.

I've noticed some of my posts that people love the most are about my job, because people love when you tell them fucked up stories of assholes who come in to restaurants. Others are about my dogs. It's still weird putting an s at the end of the word dog. I never thought I'd have more than one at a time.

And now here's the funny part, now that I've started typing something, I can just go with it and it works. Maybe I am trying too hard. Maybe next time I think I don't have a post I'll just open a fresh blank blogger document and go.

I don't ever want to give up this space. That's for sure. The thought has crossed my mind just because I don't seem to have as much to write about now. But then I get all sad panda and think of the amazing friends I would miss out on. I mean, blogging is more than blogging. It's talking to all my friends that I've never met, but someday I sure as hell will, be prepared. It's seeing how these lovely ladie's lives are going and gushing over the shit we can't stand, pets, or the shit that we want and love with each other.

And that's where my inspiration lies. With each and every person who comes and comments on this little space. With each and every blog that I just adore. Even the blogs I don't comment on as regularly as I should.

True Life...I'm a Blogger.

I've always wanted to be on True Life on MTV. ALWAYS. That or Made. But I don't ever see a topic that I would fit in. I'm crazy, but not that crazy. So today...today I get to be on my own True Life episode. I'm living the dream.

1. I want shit that I won't ever use because everybody else has one. Example? Well how about the fancy polar tf4 heart rate monitor. Sami, Shannon, and Jordan all have one and I want one too mom!! Except I don't even work out so what good would that fancy watch do me?? Nothing. The second part of this is that I want stuff I will use too. Stephanie and Sarah got me hooked on this bag from Forever 21. I don't have the cash right now but you best believe that when I do it will be mine!

2. I take pictures of my food and most of the time put them on Instagram. As embarrassing and silly as it is, I still do it. People stare so I just don't look up. Maybe I want to remember this amazing omelet for the rest of my life ok. Jeez people. All my blog friends need to know about everything I eat so when they come visit me they can decide what restaurant they want to go to based off of my pictures. People are more apt to order things when they see pictures, I'm just trying to help my friends out. If bloggers didn't take pictures of their food how would I ever know about Chipotle, which, I'm getting real soon? Or how about truffle fries? Even though I don't think any place around here carries truffle oil but still...One day truffle fries will be tried and I will love every blogger who has taken a picture of their food.

3. I spend way too much time on my phone but it's all for blogging and networking. And I have FOMO. So yeah, I constantly check my twitter, email, instagram, and blog aps to see what's going on. Other bloggers get it. People, not so much. I try and not obsessively look at stuff, but I'm not gonna lie, it doesn't always go over very well. But I'm getting better!

4. I drink. I think that's a requirement to be a blogger right? No? Ok, well then, a lot of us just like to do it. And we enjoy it. Not that's any different from the rest of the world but our drink/drank/drunk shenanigans go on the interwebs for everybody to see. You can't shame us. Not about drinking anyway.

5. I like lists. Love them is more exact. They're easier to read and they take a lot less time that actually typing up a normal post. List posts beat regular posts and regular posts beat not posting. But no, all hail to that list. Tell me how many lists you see today while reading your blogs. And I'll prove that I'm right.

That's all I've got time for today. Maybe there will be another episode of True Life in my future. I can only hope so.

Born to be Famous

I haven't done Friday's Letters in awhile so I thought that's what I'd do for today! Let's just get to it.

Dear Work, I'm really happy you guys have decided to let me serve but really disappointed with the fact that we hired that girl. I guess I'll put on my big girl panties and deal with it though. I have no choice.

Dear Weekend, It's Memorial Day weekend and I hope to go visit those I've lost. It will be therapeutic. Also, I work doubles Friday and Saturday but I'm off on Sunday. That never happens.

Dear Not-So-Little Girl, I love you so much. I'm gonna miss you while you're gone with your grammy. I know you'll have fun though. Unfortunately our summer visitation schedule starts and I have to share you more than I'm used to. Womp womp.

she picked her own outfit...born to be famous, yes she is

Dear Customers, You've been assholes lately. Please stop. I don't understand why you get offended at a table I seat you at. And then when I offer you a different table you get your panties in a wad and huff and puff "no, this is fine." Whatever.

Dear Blake, I'm so happy you got a job! And it's one that you want. I know you'll do great because you're you. And you're really good at sales/telemarketing. I love you. Also, I'm sorry about Max. I know you loved him so much. I just don't know what to say.

Dear Trixie, Little dog, I love the shit out of you. However, I told you not to get used to Mimi being home all day. That she was gonna get a job. And you got used to it and ignored me all the time. RUDE. But you're coming back around now. You're my best friend. True story. And I miss cuddling with you.

Dear Blog Loves, Happy Friday!! Thanks for being here for me all the time. You're too sweet. And I love you guys. Reading blogs is the best time suck ever. True story.

And since I'm blogging on a Friday for the first time in like ever...of course I have to link up to Whitty's #backthatazzup Friday

I've been obsessing over this song for like a week now. I know it's not new, but right now I can't get enough of it. Have you ever looked up the lyrics? Shit is all over the place!

People Suck

I always have the highest page views on days I don't blog. Guys, this is a bad thing! How come more people don't come visit when I actually post something? Huh, huh, Why?? Who knows. I'm beginning to think I suck at this blog thing. So many things I want to do but so much I don't. Woof. Sad face. Womp womp. Alright, enough pity party for me.

Things are going pretty good right now. I found out that my manager wants to hire two more hosts and then cross train me to serve!! I'm super pumped about that. That's all I've wanted to do since I started at the good ol' OG (Olive Garden if you're new here). Catch is, they actually have to be good hosts. The last few we've hired have been terrible. Terrible at the easiest job in the world. I know, I shouldn't judge, but damn, it's not as hard as these people make it out to be. It's a mentally challenging job. That's for sure.

My madre and Blake both got new jobs too! I'm super happy for them. They both need it.

But I have one shitty thing running through my mind right now. See, I don't have drama. And I know people that say that normally do, but seriously, I don't. I don't do anything or hangout with people so...no drama for this lady. But right now, I kinda do. A seriously shady girl that I know, messaged me the other night and asked if there was any beef between us because she seriously needs a job. Another "friend" of mine told her we were hiring and she wanted to make sure it was cool if we worked together. Bitch, listen here, if you have to ask somebody if it's ok to work with them, then it's probably not a good idea. Right? And how dare her put it on me that she's "desperate" for a job. You're a grown ass woman. If you need a job that bad I don't think that a person should be in the way of stopping you. I won't go into why this girl and I don't really get a long because it's not really about me. But she hurt a lot of people around me in really fucked up ways. There are only two people in this entire world that I would freak out about. And she is one of them. But I was an adult and said "yeah, it's fine" thinking you know, it wasn't the nicest sounding message so maybe she won't do it. Lo and behold, bitch had an interview and was there when I got to work today. I freaked out - full panic attack style kids. It's bad. Luckily, I held it together enough that none of the managers or other employees saw my freak out. But it sure felt like it was way out there. I finally broke down and told a manager that I don't care if they hire her, but I would prefer not to be in the same training class and around her. I had to. I was trying so hard to not be drama and not say anything. But I need to be comfortable at work. It's my job too. She has another interview to go through so maybe she won't get hired, but I had to say something now. I know this all sounds like rambling mumbo jumbo but I feel better getting it out there.

And for the "friend" who knows that the girl and I aren't really besties, well, I no longer consider her a friend. I don't know how a friend does that to somebody else. She knows what went down with this girl and the people she fucked over. And she knows she's not really a person that I like to be around. "Friend" is supposed to be really good friends with Blake and by doing this, we both learned that she's not who we thought she was.

And that's my rant for today. I know that I haven't been doing the blog every day in May thing but this fits perfectly right now. Have a good day cupcakes! Love your faces.

The One I Didn't Want to Post

I didn't want to write this post. I was hoping that I wouldn't ever do it. But, here I am, writing it today.

What is going on in blogland people?? I somehow miss all the little twitterama and the meaness. Not that it's a bad thing. So maybe I don't have a reason to write this post because I haven't been a part of any of it. That's how part of me feels. Like I'm jumping into stuff that isn't any of my damn business. It really isn't. But part of it is. The part where all the other bloggers are talking about it and it's making my newsfeed kind of sad to read.

I don't know why everybody has to be hateful to each other. I don't get it. When I first started blogging, it wasn't an option. It was a requirement for my English 102 class. And I dreaded it. But then I started to love it. And I found other blogs besides those of my classmates who I was required to read, and I loved them. When the semester ended, I chose to keep writing. And one of my main reasons was because blogland seemed so loving and caring. It seemed like girls who had never met connected and became friends because of the thoughts that flowed from their minds. And I've "met" so many bloggers that I adore, ones that I hope one day I'll meet irl and we'll continue our amazing friendships out side of the interwebs. But now, lately, it seems like once a week there is a day of blogger drama. And it hurts my heart. I know we all can't "get along". Life isn't that easy. But we don't have to bully. We don't have to hate read. That's what you have fb for. To hate read all the shit that people you couldn't stand in high school have to say today. If you don't like what another blogger stands for, that's fine. But don't condemn them for their choices. Don't say mean, hateful things just because you don't agree. Just ignore it. Hello, isn't that we learned in high school????? Don't start something just to fight with people. If you want to fight with somebody, well shit, then go do it somewhere else. Leave blogland what it was when I came to it. A place to write it out, meet kick-ass people, and have a secret that the people we know in real life don't understand. This community is ours and outsiders don't get it. That's a beautiful thing! Why is everybody trying to ruin that???

The wonderful Erin (who you really should be following) wrote today about her good, bad, and ugly. She also stated that "at the end of the day we are all just bloggers, and at the end of that we are all just human. We all have great things going for us. We all have shitty things going for us. We all experience success. We all experience fallback. We're humans - each of us carrying around "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly"." And yes, I did just quote her word for word because the girl got it right. After that she listed her goods, bads, and uglies and encouraged others to do it too. So I'm gonna. Because everybody has traits that are good, bad, and ugly, because we are just human.

The Good
I graduated high school with a baby. A lot of people I know took other ways and got their ged or just quit. It's not a bad thing to get a G.E.D. I'm not saying that at all. But I did finish high school and walked right across that stupid stage. A bit drunk, I may add.

My boobs. Maybe not exactly what others think should be on this list, but if you know me, then you understand. I love boobs. Mine, yours, Kate Uptons, the list goes on. I've said that before.

I'm loyal to those that are close to me. Need an ear or shoulder, just come right here. Need a favor, I'm yours. I will do anything within my means to help you out.

The Bad
I hardly ever do my laundry. When my jeans have been worn one too many times for my liking, I'll do laundry. I've never gone naked, so I must do it sometimes.

I'm a crier. Yep, I cry over everything. Miranda cried on the ACMs, I did too. Luke cried, I followed suit. That happy kitty commercial, I cry. My feelings get hurt, I cry. If I got more than 3 days without my eyes welling up with tears, something's wrong.

I'm impatient. When I want something, I want it now. I hate to wait. If I'm hungry and there's more than a 20 minute wait, better go find some place else. My daughter is walking like a turtle, like she does most days, I have to get in front of her or I run her over.

The Ugly
I come across as a bitch. I don't mean to, it's just my personality. Unless you're really dumb and get on my nerves.

Taking one from Erin, I pick my nose. Yep, totally just said that.

I never ever ever exercise or eat healthy and complain about being fat.

This list and the bad list, are a lot easier for me to write then the good one. It's hard for me to find good things about myself.

That's all I've got. I want this place that I love to go back to what it was when I found it.

Humpday!

Yay for Hump Day! I'm off work today like always. It puts a smile on my face.

On a quick side note, y'all know that I love Luke Bryan and someday we're gonna be in-laws because his son and my daughter are gonna get married. So you should probably help him out and vote for him for Entertainer of the Year for the ACM awards. Click here!

I particpated in the Cara Box swap hosted by the wonderful Kaitlyn over at Wifessionals. This month's theme was "My Name Is...". Everything in the box should start with the first letter of the person's name you received. I got Ashley from Wannabe Green. I was all "this is gonna be easy" no, no it wasn't. So wrong! lol.

My sender was Gayle from A Gayle Force. Girl knew the way to my heart! I absolutely loved the box she sent me! It was fabulous!!!

I got
-cupcake recipes
- cheetos (flaming hot, my favvvv)
- a cd that she made for me!
- cadbury creme eggs (the regular ones)
- cadbury mini eggs (my favvvvv)
-chapstick for the little, which is so sweet of her
- revlon top speed in Crystal Glow

Pretty awesome sauce!

Now I wanna post some of my favorite pins of the week. I got into a little tiff with Pinterest this week though. I got invited to a fitness motivation group board and of course, I accepted. However, little did I know that joing this board would fill my damn feed with alllll workout stuff. It was crazy. I had to spend at least an hour trying to get my Pinterest back in order. I guess when I said yes, I got to follow the board too. Ooops.

This is so neat!

I actually haven't pinned a lot this week. But I love these 3!

Have a great day cupcakes.

Titles Suck

Good morning cupcakes. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

First things first, I'm linking up with Whitney for #backthatazzup Friday. We were on Twitter yesterday talking about what song I might use. I definitely had to use what we talked about. It was just perfect. How about some SSSSSSS Club! What did the S stand for anyway? Anybody care to refresh me. If this doesn't make you feel like 12 year old again, then I don't know what will. Back when ABC Family played good programming. Not that PLL or Secret Life crap. And yes, I do watch Secret Life, it's so bad.

Dear Trixie, I missed you so very much while I was gone. And yesterday when I came home it was obvious you missed me. It made my heart hurt a little to leave you again. OK, a lot. I love you little dog and I just wanna squeeze you and lay under the blankies and watch tv all day. Hopefully soon.

Dear Spring, Did you forget that you arrived on the 20? Did Winter bully you into letting her stay? Well if she did you better go talk to Mother Nature and let her fix this shit. We were all counting on you and now we're kinda irritated. But if it wasn't your fault you can show your head like anytime now! K thanks.

Dear Blake, I missed you while I was gone. But I think you missed me more. And that makes me smile. =) It's nice to know that somebody really does miss you when you're gone. I love you. Thanks for everything!

Dear Teagan, Little girl I miss you already. I hope that you're having a good time still! I'm sure that grammy is spoiling you like crazy. Wouldn't surprise me. Come home soon k?

Dear Work,  We need to become best friends and real quick like. I get to spend today and all weekend working doubles. Please be easy on me. I want a smooth night tonight to set up for the weekend.

Dear Lovelies, Thanks for reading my blog. It really means a lot. I just like y'all so much. I love getting to know new people and most of you are cooler than the people I meet in real life. Whyyyyy can't we all live so close together?? Why???

That's all! Love your faces and stuff.

Throwin' It Back

My my my. I've been away for a couple of days but I've been thinking a lot about this here blog. I decided that I should only post when I actually have something to talk about and not justfor the sake of posting. Nobody wants to read boring crap. That's for sure. It seems like a lot of the blogworld is taking a hiatus. I can't say I blame them. I may lose readers, but that's ok. Readers are just people who subscribe to GFC. Followers are what I'm about. The people who will read no matter how long it takes me to post and I can always count on a comment from them. And that's what matters.

Have you heard the news?? Google reader is going away! My heart is broken. It's what I use on my phone so that I can keep up with you all through out the day. Now what will I do?? I know that Bloglovin is an option however, I have a billion and ten posts "starred" in my reader for rainy days. Most of them are posts where other bloggers are featured. How in the hell am I going to keep them? We have until June or July 1 (I don't remember which, sorry) to figure out what to do. Google wants us to use Google Takeout. I tried it but all it did was download my reader stuff to my computer and I can't even open it. -.- Woof. If you have any ideas please let this girl know.

I've got a treat for you today, my very first Throwback Thursday. Yup. I'm linking up with Ady from When in Doubt Just Add Glitter. On a side note, I'm watching Duck Dynasty and they're going through throwback pictures too! Anyway...here ya go.

Circa 7th grade

I went through a little "goth" phase. I wore almost all black, sometimes I added pink or red. I wore chain jewlrey. What in the hell??? lol. I was skinny though. And I thought I was fat then. HA! I really haven't changed much in the way of looks. I got the braces taken off. And I gained about 50 pounds. That's just a guess. That hair! It's so frizzy and puffy and I just want to go back and fix it. Oh and I wore white lipstick! Who does that? I guess I did.The one thing besides being skinny that I love...my boobs were still perky. I miss that. lol. Thank goodness for a good push up! You live and grow wiser with age. I can guarantee we'll all look back at this time when we're old and wobbly and think wtf!

Exciting News and A Giveaway!

Here lately, life has been kinda blah. Like seriously. It's been snowy/icy since last Thursday. Boo.

See what I mean. It's this way all across Missouri.

This is Jefferson City (the capitol) And that building way in the back is the capitol building. I've been there once. It was a few years ago. We were on our way to Columbia for a concert (de javu?) and we stopped. We participated in bathroom pictures of course. Who wouldn't want to take duckfaced bathroom pictures in the capitol building of their state??

So yeah, it's been a bore to be here. I've had extra good company though...you know my computer and my phone. Lawd thank you for the internet. Well, today as I was buying more concert tickets, I checked in to my blog and what to my wondering eyes did I see...well this!

100 followers! You guys are awesome. Seriously I'm so happy right now. I love all of you and thank you for helping this blog grow. I appreciate all your comments more than any of you know. And all my bloggy friends I've made, well, they are amazing too. It's such a surreal thing to have people from far and wide become really good friends. It's just so amazing. Thank y'all so much!

I've decided that I'm going to do my first giveaway. It's going to be pretty simple, because well, that's how I like things. I'm going to be giving away a couple of my favorite things. This list was hard to come up with because my favorite things all have to do with tv/music. I'm a bum. I know

$5 Starbucks card// A redbull
Something glittery (i'm not sure what yet)/ chapstick

I love me some caramel apple spice from starbucks. I don't know how I'm gonna get redbull into a package, but I'll figure it out. See, I love glitter/sparkly/shiny things, and I think I have an idea of what it will be. Consider it a surprise, and I promise, it won't be a container of glitter! Last, but certainly not least, Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Blast. This is my jam. I really love this stuff. Soooo much. And who knows, I could end up throwing extra stuff in this box!

To enter, just leave a comment telling me somethings you can't live without. Giveaway ends Wednesday March 6th! And thanks again for reading this blog of mine. I adore you!

Friday's Letters

It's Friday...I'm off this whole freaking weekend. Wanna know why...I get to go see Luke Bryan tomorrow for my birthday. Yep, my birthday was over a week ago but I didn't have a get together because I wanted to save money for this. I'm so super duper excited. It's going to be myself, Blake, Momma, and my Auntie! We weren't sure if she could go since her surgery was on my birthday but on Wednesday we got the ok. I can't freaking wait.

Dear Friday, I'm so happy to finally see you. After 8 days of work you're the bright light at the end of the tunnel. We have a super day planned. I'm going to lunch with dad, buying myself a new shirt, getting the hair done, and eyebrows waxed. Gotta look hot for this weekend. Ya know, I may not come back. Luke might ask me to marry him.

Dear Luke, Gahhh I'm so excited for you. You're openers aren't that exciting to me but I won't turn down seeing a band live. I'll be shaking it for you so hopefully you notice and whisk me away.

Dear Boyfriend, I know that you aren't a country music fan but thank you so much for coming with me. I'm ready to get my drink on and sing sweet country songs to you all night. And please don't get too jealous. I still love you the mostest.

Dear Momma, I'm so happy you're coming. I haven't been to a concert with you since Sugar Ray. I was like 9. Don't mind me getting my drink on. That's what concerts are for. Thanks for coming with!

Dear Auntie, I don't even know where to start. I haven't told blog world about your amazing news so I guess I'll share now. CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING CANCER FREE! You did it. I'm so incredibly proud of you. You've been so strong and I admire that. And I'm excited you get to come with me. We bought the tickets so long ago, and this cancer shit almost interfered. Swap Stuffs!

I participated in two Valentine's Day swaps because well...it's my birthday month and I love swaps. I got a lot of awesome stuff too! The two girls I got hooked me up!

The first swap was hosted by Erin at Love, Fun and Football and Megan at Table For Three. It was the Spread the Love swap. And I got the best goodies! My partner was Ashley from High Heels & Steering Wheels and girl hooked it up! She sent me an awesome package because I mentioned that my birthday was also Valentine's Day.

Love, Fun & Football

Not shown are the other loofah and a cute pair of socks! The loofah is in my shower and the socks are in my laundry. They were so cute though. Again, thanks Ash, I loved loved loved my box! Oh, and a tumbler. I forgot about it because it was't with the rest of my stuff. It was actually put up where things go. Hahaha that doesn't happen here!

When I opened the package there was pink confetti/grass in it and it was awesome! She knows how to send a package.

The second swap I joined was Will You Be My Valentine hosted by the fabulous Kailyn at Sealed With A Kiss and Eryka at abcde. Partners in this swap were secrets. I think secret swaps are the best! I got Abbigale from True Blue Abbi and getting to know this girl was fun! She's so adorable. I sent her some fruit roll ups, lip gloss, some gum because she loves it, and an adorable headband that I almost bought for myself. I didn't take a picture but here's a picture of Abbi with it on!

I got a package from Alacia at Hoodwinked. She sent me a beautiful bracelet and some really pretty tape. My mini took the tape so unfortunately I don't have a picture of it. An example of the tape is on the enevelope she sent me. Look at it! She's so crafty my heart stopped when I opened it.

I love pink!

So yeah, I joined some great swaps and I couldn't be happier with what I got. You're probably expecting a birthday review but that will come Monday because I'm tired. Happy weekend cupcakes!

Silence and Support

I started writing this post on Friday night after I got off work and had reflected on all of today's terrible terrible event.

My heart hurts immensely for those babies lost today. It's not fair at all. those poor innocent children lost teir lives because of some asshole parent. Who can be that...  i don't even know how I want to describe this man because I'm just at a loss for words.

When I read this about tragic event I had a hard time not going to pick up my little from her school and spend the rest of the day with her. Debating all day long about whether or not I should tell her about what happened. I decided that I wouldn't. But then I debated if this was good or bad parenting all day. Ultimately, I still don't know if it was a smart move but I didn't go get her because I just shouldn't have to have her be scared of going to school. She loves school and is so excited for kindergarten And I shouldn't rob her of that joy. Like the children who were at that school had to go through. It's such a tough parenting moment to be in - never knowing if your decision is the right decision for your child, but a decision that you can't take back after it's already been made.

It's so unfair for those babies. Those poor, sweet innocent little children that just don't understand why. The ones that watched as their peers died around them. The ones who passed and what their poor little minds were wondering why them. They were all so scared. I can't imagine.

Today I saw in Erin's blog she had a post on how bloggers are going to help. I think it's great and I fully plan on doing what is asked. Here is what is going on.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To the Blog World and Anyone Else who Wants to Help,

Yesterday, tragedy struck so many of us in ways we did not foresee. An elementary school and small town in Connecticut was shattered by a mass shooting. We knew we wanted to help and we came up with this:

On Tuesday, December 18th, there will be a blogger day of silence.
We will post the button and that's it. Please try to not post anything else that day if possible.

We are also raising money that will go to an organization in the memory of this tragedy. The organization is called The Newtown Family Youth and Family Services. Here is the official description of the support service we are donating to:

"Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. NYFS provides programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area.

ANY DONATIONS MADE TO NEWTOWN YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY TO THOSE EFFECTED BY THE SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SHOOTING."

Please visit THIS PAGE to make your donation.

We can't imagine how they must be feeling, especially this close to the holidays. We would love for you to spread the word on your own blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Let's make a difference and use blogging in a positive way. Thank you in advance for participating.

Love,
The Blog World

p.s. If you would like to, copy-paste and repost any part of this, please do. Share on.
