What's in a Year?

It feels so good to be back. All that white space ready for me to use it...yup. I hope y'all had a Merry Merry Christmas. I know that we did. I must have been a good girl because Santa brought me the three things I really wanted. =)

I just can't believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2013. It just doesn't seem right. So much has happened. I thought I'd  do a quick little recap.

February
I started my concert binge of 2013 and went to see Luke Bryan for the first time. Mhmmmm.

I had a boring 22nd birthday party. 23 is coming in with a bang.

March
Teagan somehow turned 5. I just don't know where the time went.

April
Blake, my momma, and I went to Kansas City to watch a discussion panel with some of the cast of Sons of Anarchy. We also got to see Katey Segal perform a few songs. It was amazing.

May
I went and saw Kenny Chesney for the second time. We had way more fun than we should have.

But even more importantly, my Auntie started the path of remission. She beat breast cancer's ass!

June
My wife started her path of remission too! She beat lung cancer.

I went and saw Miranda Lambert. It wasn't the best concert, but that wasn't her fault at all. I can't wait to see her again.

Blake and I adopted Olivia. My how much she's grown.

July
I went to Toby Keith's benefit for Moore Ok. It was the first festival I've seen and I saw a lot of country music artists I never would have seen.

We went to our first broadway show. And of course it was Lion King. The one I wanted to see the most!

August

Teagan started kindergarten. It's been an interesting year for her. That's for sure.

October
Man what a busy month concert wise.

First we had Blake Shelton.

Then there was Keith Urban. And I got to touch him. I'm still not over that. This was the second time I'd seen him and it was so much fun!

And then we went to Florida Georgia Line. Which was a blast too.

Blake and I celebrated 4 years of being together. And for the first time we didn't go to a Halloween party. I'm a little sad about it still.

November

I took Blake to see Korn and Rob Zombie for our anniversary. He loved it. More than any other concert we've been to.

December

We celebrated Blake's birthday and Christmas.

Sorry this is the longest post ever. I hope y'all have a wonderful New Year's Eve and start your year out right. Lots of love!

Best Songs of the Year

I love me some music. I really truly do. And although I may listen to a lot of country, and mainstream stuff, I still think that I can learn from it.

Last week when Helene announced that she was going to host this link up, I already knew I was going to participate. The problem is, what songs would I pick. I have seriously thought about it for a week. And I still have no clue.

I want to pick all the songs unless they're by Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, or Gaga. But I won't. So, here's what songs I could think of that I adored this year. And no, they're not in any certain order.

Royals - Lorde
I was behind the times when this song came out. Everybody knew what it was before me. But damn it's an amazing song! It's not like all the other music that came out. I just dig it.

Radio Active - Imagine Dragons
Rocking out to this song is the bomb. I can get a good workout doing so. However, I have to tell you that when it came out, I thought the lyrics were "Ready to rock you" instead of radio active. Fail.

My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'Em UP) - Fall Out Boy
Another song made for rocking out. The return of FOB was unexpected to me. I was never a fan girl but I appreciate this good song. I don't know if you've ever watched them perform it, but they look bored as shit. Please rock out while singing this song.

Anything by Blake Shelton

Seriously. I don't think he released one song I didn't like this year. If I have to pick, I have to pick three songs. Boys Round Here, Mine Would Be You, Sure Be Cool if You Did. Love all of them. Apparently Blake and Vevo don't get along because they only had 4 videos and none of them were my songs. Google it!

Play it Again - Luke Bryan

He hasn't released it on the radio yet, but technically it came out in 2013. IT strikes a chord with me because what girl doesn't go "OMG THIS IS MY SONG!!!" every time her favorite song comes on. As much as I love Luke, I've played this song before and I just think that this picture is more appropriate.

Ho Hey - The Lumineers
People got tired of this song really fast but I still love it. Something about that "folk" sound gets me sometimes. I know they aren't really that folksy but I say they are and let me be happy.

We Can't Stop - Miley Cyrus
And she won't stop. Please don't stop Miley.

It Goes Like This - Thomas Rhett
Just listening to this one makes me smile.

Wake Me Up - Avicci
This song could be considered over played but when you don't have a radio, nothing is overplayed. I really like that this song is considered EDM. I could get more into that genre if it sounded like this.

Thrift Shop/Ceiling Can't Hold Us - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
I know that these are two different songs but I love them both. I really just like Macklemore. I mean he raps about shit that matters. I can appreciate that. Can't wait to hear more from theses two! And again, I couldn't find anything on Vevo.

Timber - PitBull & Ke$ha
I love Kesha. LOVE her. And this song just gets stuck in my head and I enjoy singing it to piss off people. =) When we went to Blake's Christmas party the dueling pianists played this and it sounded awesome!

I could keep going. But I've gotta get to work.

Do you agree with anything on this list? Or disagree?

I Can't Come Up With Anything Original

Yesterday should forever be remembered as the day I got it together. Not a joke in anyway! i got up yesterday morning, went to the post office, I've done a lot of homework, scheduled appointments, and turned in some things I needed to turn in. Hallelujah  It feels so good to be a normal adult. Not procrastinating and not doing stuff I should be doing. Hopefully I can get it together and be more *gasp* responsible. Shhh...don't say that word too loud, it's kind of scary.

Anyway...like I told you Friday, I was off of work this past weekend and boy was it nice. I didn't even have to request it off, it was just given to me. And I got Monday off too. Three day weekend - Holla!!

Friday I did the usual, work. I worked a double and I don't ever wanna work a double on Good Friday ever again. Friday doubles are supposed to be easy peasy and relaxing. Not this shit. Kids were out of school and parents felt lazy I guess so we were pretty busy all day long.

Saturday was great! I woke up planning to do all kinds of stuff but did nothing but couch surf my afternoon away. I love being a bum. I know I had homework to do but I just needed to turn off for the day. So that's what I did. I knew it was time to get around though. I had to run into the dark abyss of the world Walmart to find something for mini for Easter from the bunny - which she doesn't believe in. More on that later. I was grumpy and ultra super emotional. Womp womp...all my ladies know why. So because I felt like a terrible mom for buying Easter presents the night before Easter I had a mini meltdown with my mom at Walmart. But at least I wasn't in my sweat pants! I ended up buying some stuff and regretting it because I saw all the other kids' baskets on fb and felt terrible for not making her one. I just bought some clothes for her. Next year I vow to do better and start earlier. After that it was time to go get the man and go out! Yes, that's right, I went out. Momma, Boyfriend, and I went to Kitchen Pass (a hole in the wall with amazing birthday cake shots) to watch her friends' bands play. First up was The Rampaging Sons of the Widow James...yeah that's the whole name. Why would anybody name their band something that long? Beats the piss outta me. Then it was time for Dirty Deeds - an AC/DC cover band! They rocked!!

The Madre and I

I felt special having my name on something reserved!

Ignore my weird facial structure.

Just a picture.

If my video ever finishes uploading to Youtube, I'll put it on here. If not, well, I hate Youtube so whatever. My shit never works right.

I drank a lot and proceeded to have a wonderful evening with my family! I love being a happy drunk. I'm not always but this time I was and life was good. We had a wonderful evening.

Then it was Easter! It was Teagan's dad's holiday so I didn't get to wake up with her. That shit is so weird and hard sometimes. Anyway, Madre, Madre's Madre, Boyfriend and I all went to Golden Coral for lunch. Classy, I know. My grandma was gonna cook but her hunnie had a migrane and it was just easier to go out to eat. The food was just so so. Don't ever go to restaurants on holidays. It's not going to be as great as it could be! But I did have a cool cookie.

See, pretty awesome huh!

My mom's disgusted face at some kind of pie. I died a little.

After lunch Boyfriend and I headed back to his place so I could relish in some afternoon hangover napping. Which never happened. Sad face. Then Teagan's dad decided that I could have her for the afternoon so I jumped in my car and picked her up. She looked so cute and grown up. I need a way to stop that shit. We went home, did the Easter thing there. That's when I learned about the bunny. I asked if she was ready to see what the bunny brought her and she said something along the line of well, what you got me but we pretend it's from the Easter bunny. He's not real. I just said ok. And then harassed her about Santa. I don't think she believes in him either but she wouldn't outright say it. She's only 5! How can she already not believe?? Oh well, one less lie to tell her. I got my basket, she got hers. We were happy. Then we went to my dad's for his side of the family's Easter. He grilled some ribs and hamburgers but made these awesome sauce baked potatoes that I went to town on. MMM so good. We gabbed and played until 8 when I realized I really needed to get Teag back to her dad's. This is the only pic I got of her and it's not even mine. This is her with her sister. Blogger fail, but at least I got one at all! On the ride home I let her sit in the front because I get tired of being a damn taxi lady. She passed out and in that moment, I wished that time would have stopped. I wish that I could have held her hand and just enjoyed that moment.

Have a great Tuesday cupcakes! I've got school today and I close at work. Womp womp. Love your faces!

Word

So I've seen this around the bloggy world and at first I thought "That's neat, but not for me." But the more I saw it, the more I wanted to be a part of it. What can I say - I love bandwagons!

I'm picking a word for the year. At first I was like whatever, resolutions will be fine, but I don't think they will. And then I had to pick a word. Gawwww. Do you know how many words are in our dictionary? Too many to count. It was a toss between simplicity and positivity. Which, Chrome keeps telling me isn't a word, but it is now. I'm adding a word to the dictionary so there's one more to count.

I chose positivity. The other night (NYE to be exact) boyfriend and I were in his truck going to dinner and he was ragging on me for me so negative about everything. It pissed me off but the more I thought about it, he was wrong right.

I can be a very negative person. I hate to admit it. And now it's time to change that. And I think I've been doing a pretty good job so far. Yeah, it's only 3 days into the year but hey! Yesterday I had a break down and wanted to be negative but I made myself get on fb and post something positive. Because I hel myself accountable. I can seethe and seethe in my mind, but outwardly, I will be more positive. And eventually my mind will become more positive. BOOM!

Here it goes. Hopefully I don't lose being funny with out negativity. Of course some will still be there!

Bye 2012...

I hate this year. I don't have a phone to ring the new year in with. That means I don't get to take pictures, I don't get to text everyone happy new year, I don't get to do shit. And I'm pissed.

See, Friday was Boyfriend's work holiday party. It was fun. Minus not knowing anybody and Boyfriend disappearing half the time, but I still had fun. Until that time...that time when my phone broke. Shattered, demolished, it's bad. I had to wait until today to go get a new phone from AT&T because it's the first time I've had time and those mother fuckers told me that they don't deal with the insurance claims. If I would have known that I would have fixed this shit Saturday when we got home. Now, I have to wait for who knows how long.

Plus, it's snowing/icing...I HATE snow and ice. On the last day of the year.

So December 31,2012...you can fuck off and I'll be glad to ring you out tonight.

I was going to get my hair done today...but my pictures were on my phone on my pinterest. RARRRR.

I'll be drinking my sorrows away tonight kids. And then I work a double tomorrow. 11 am until close. My manager hates me. And if my phone comes I won't get it because I'll be at work.

Hope you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve though. And please...drink ten one for me. Love your faces cupcakes!

Check out my resolutions here and here.

Personal Resolutions

First of all...this might be a little long. I'm sorry! I need to see this in writing so I can do what I say I will. I'm even going to have this printed and with me at all times. Here we go...

- I'm at my heaviest right now. I will loose weight this year. Yes, I do say this every year, but being at my heaviest, I'm going to do something about it. I'm done with this. I asked for a gym membership for christmas this year and I got one! I will start to exercise. I have to. My goal is to be two sizes smaller by June. That's 6 months. I can do that. That's plenty of time. I'm going to eat better. I'm still going to eat out, I can guarantee it. However, I won't do it as much as I do now. And my choices will be healthier. Yep, sometimes I'll cheat because dammit, a piece of chocolate cake is too hard to resist. My portions will be smaller. Hello kids meals! Plus I get a free toy - Score!

-  I'm going to become more organized. For my daughter and my mind. I'm tired of feeling lost and almost drowning because of our disorganization. I'm going to have monthly, weekly, and daily to do lists. I'll use one of my planners to keep track of this! See, having an addiction to paper/stationary/business supplies is a good thing. My monthly goals will still go up on here. I'll break them down to smaller goals for the week and complete them as a daily goal. Sounds a little confusing but I know what the hell I'm talking about. That's what matters.

Get more financially stable than I am now. Ha!,  I've got a ways to go. I'll miss shopping.
 - Pay half of my credit card off. I would like that to happen by June as well, but November is ok too.
 - Put $30 a month into my savings. I have the money transferred every pay day but sometimes I have to take it back out.

Get my ass in a different vehicle! Or at least make mine cheaper. I'm tired of shit being wrong with my car all the time. If I can pay less for it though, I can save for a down payment on another car. All I've got right now is my trade in value (I'm upside down already) it's not very much.

Do a load of laundry a week. I know that this doesn't sound like much but I hardly ever do laundry. It's terrible I know. It's just so time consuming when you have as much as I do right now. If I could get it all done it wouldn't be that bad.

Buy birthday cards for those close to me at the beginning of each month. My grandma does this and I've always admired it. Who doesn't like mail, especially when it's not a bill. People will feel great and so will I, I love giving people things and I love cards.

Have "me time". That might sound a little selfish, but really it's not. Once a month I will do something by myself for myself that I makes me feel good. Hair, manicure, pedi, shopping trip, who knows! I will get up early enough to have quiet time in the morning. I'm going to follow this schedule for sure. I just don't know if I will add more time to it. =)

Read one book a month. At least. From my book list because someday I'd like to get it done. I'll do another post about it in early January. Who even remembers what I put on that shit.

Family Resolutions

Make a photo book for 2013. I'm going to try and make one of 2012 in the beginning of the year.

Start the little's birthday interview/first day of school book.

Have a girl's night with mini me once a month. Dinner where ever she picks, then a fun activity for us to do. Sounds great!

Blogging Resolutions

Blogging Resolutions

This little blog will be getting a makeover. It's been a year since this little blog started and now since I've enjoyed it so much and know I will continue...I'll be shelling out some bucks for it to look pretty!

I'm going to start buying ads! I would love to sponsor a few blogs this year. I'm ready to start getting to know my bloggy friends more and networking. Getting my name out there and making friends? Hell yes please! Plus I get to help out some of my favorites. =)

I'm only going to be participating in one swap a month if I do any. I have to make sure it's actually one I want to do. I'm going to get better at them. And having more than one to remember is some hard damn work for this girl. Hopefully later in the year, I'll be ready to tackle two. The only way I see this happening is if I've already joined one and I see another one I absolutely love and I've thought for a couple days about it.

I'm a lurker...I hardly ever comment but I read daily. I know how much I love comments so I will be commenting more! =)
