On Wednesdays We Confess

How's it already Wednesday? That means that the weekend is coming and I have to work. Wahhhh. But at least it was fast and painless right!

Vodka and Soda

- I only do this link up so that I can have Ryan's face on my blog. Kidding, kidding. But it sure as hell helps.

- I get really overwhelmed very easily. And with all the questions that were being thrown my way after we got engaged, well, I thought I was going to lose my mind. Thankfully, I've gotten a bit better as the questions have gotten better. I don't think staying calm and collected while wedding planning is going to be as easy as I thought. Uh oh.

- I started a journal last night. I set an alarm for 5 minutes and just free wrote whatever came to my mind. I wasn't done when my 5 minutes was up so I set it for another 5. I really enjoyed it. Now if only I could put those words on this here blog. I'd have some great posts.

- On a serious note, while journaling, my hand would tense up and start to hurt really bad from my fingertips all the way down to my elbow. What's wrong with me? Are my writing muscles just sore or should I see if it's something more?? I mean I physically had to stop writing to get the pain to go away. And after about a minute of writing again it would come back. Anybody here a dr??

- I've been enjoying using the "I just got engaged though!" speech for things I want. During the weekend, Wife wasn't sure if she wanted to come to a party with me so I just said that and she couldn't say no. What else do you think it would work for? Am I a brat?

- I'm really bad at taking medicine consistently. I have an under active thyroid that I need to manage and I suck at it. It makes me really sleepy and sluggish. If I take my pill I'm good, but if not it's all I can do to manage to be a human being. I stopped consistently taking said pill in March and I'm feeling the effects of it. How do you manage taking daily pills?? My refills run out in May (not that far away) and I will have to go back to the dr. to have it checked out. I just don't want to tell him I don't take it everyday because then I'll feel guilty. At the same time I don't want him to think that my condition is getting worse. Being an adult isn't fun sometimes.

- I really just want to start wedding planning but I want to enjoy being engaged too. There's so much exciting stuff going on. Ahhhhh!!

Peace Out Cupcakes,
Have a great day!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Yay it's Friday!  I hope you cupcakes all have a wonderful 3 day weekend. I'll be at work making that $$.

Anyway, when I saw that Amanda from Meet @ The Barre was hosting her first ever Friday Favorites link up I knew I couldn't leave her hanging.

Here are my favs this week!

Here's a back story before I get to my first favorite thing. When we bought tickets to ACM's I decided that I wanted to rock the boho look. Kind of. And that meant I had to grow my hair out. I haven't had long hair for 5 years. I'm excited to see how long I can get it. While browsing Pinterest (we forgot about our love affair, but have since rekindled our romance)  I found the hair I want.

My Favorite Hairstyle

Favorite Food
We had pizza quesadillas last night and they are delicious. You just need tortillas, your choice of pizza toppings, pizza sauce, and cheese! Easy, sort of nutritious, wonderful dinner!

Favorite Song
Believe it or not it's not a country song this week! I've been digging Hey Brother by Avicci for awhile but this week I couldn't get enough of it.

Favorite Moment of the Week
Even though Teagan and I fight a lot, she melts my heart a little bit more. Yesterday was elegant day at her school and she was so excited. It was all she could talk about Wednesday night when she was being sweet. I love how girlie she is. It's the complete opposite of me and it's cute. So Thursday when she was all ready I had to take a picture. She did her own hair and picked out her own outfit. I just felt like my little girl was all grown up. I'd like that to stop please.

That's it for this week. I'm gonna stalk everybody else's posts to get more ideas for myself! Happy Friday cupcakes!

Taste of Tuesday

Hey hey happy Tuesday. It's my Monday. Womp womp. I had a nice little three and a half day weekend and now I have to go back to reality. Weird.

I love to cook. I don't do it very often but I really do enjoy it. My favorite things are simple and easy. Of course. If something is too complicated than I just really don't want to have anything to do with it. Occassionally I'll try but most of the time I'll pray somebody else makes it for me or I find an easier way. All about simplicity. And what takes the least amount of dishes possible. This also means that my repertoire of recipes is really small. Sad face.

Well, Saturday I decided that I wanted to make dinner. But I didn't wanna make the same old things I always make. So I'm going through Pinterest (where else would I look?) looking for ideas when I think "Self, you've always wanted to try the chicken parm at work. Why don't you make your own??" And it sounded like a good idea. I went a little off of a recipe I found but just for the directions on what method to cook it and for how long.

I thought I'd share with you today =) I don't really measure when I cook so just use what you think is right.

You'll need
- Boneless chicken breasts (I used 4)
- 2 eggs
- Bread crumbs, any style/flavor you want. (I used italian style)
- Marinara sauce. (I wasn't feeling good so I just grabbed a jar. Do me a favor and share your favorite homemade recipe. No chunks please!)
- Mozzarella cheese (I bought fresh, but whatever works for you is great!)

That's it. Simple is the key to life.

1. Set oven to 350 degrees to preheat.
2. Coat chicken in egg. Make sure it's nice and eggy. It feels really gross. At least to me.
3. Roll the chicken in your breadcrumbs. Like get as much as you possibly can on there. Make sure it's coated. Or not. You're choice.

4. Place chicken on a tin foiled cookie sheet and place in the oven.
5. Bake for 30 minutes.
6. Add mozzarella cheese and bake for another 5 minutes.
And you're done!

Add as much marinara sauce as you want. And a side. If that's your thing. I love carbs so I added spaghetti. I got a little too much sauce too. I just need somebody to convince me that spaghetti squash really doesn't taste terrible and I'll try it.

I was so exicted to try it that I forgot to take a decent pictures. This is terrible I know. I'm embarrassed.

Of course there are things I will do differently next time.
- I'll add salt and pepper to the eggs and a couple of my own spices to the breadcrumbs.
- I won't wait as long as 30 minutes to add the cheese. I like mine a little more melted than it is.
- I'll remember to tenderize the chicken. Like I said, I didn't feel good and really wanted to eat soon.
- I might place them in a glass pan and bake them with sauce and cheese on top. Maybe some grated cheese on top of the chicken then the sauce and fresh mozzarella. Who knows.

Have fun with it! Make it your own. And be sure to tell me about it.

I'm linking up with Ashley and Jessica for Taste of Tuesday.
Hopefully I can come up with something else to post this month.

Pop Some Bottles

Who doesn't love to celebrate? Seriously? Whether we're celebrating being alive, birthdays, holidays, mini goals, accomplishing goals, or we're already just white girl wasted and we're celebrating that, we all love it. Don't pretend you don't love to pop some bottles!

So when I saw that my lover face Jordan had joined a link up called Celebrate Everything, I told her I loved it and I was gonna join too, a couple days late of course. Hopefully the link up is still open!

Domesticated Working Woman

Here's what I'm popping some bottles about this week.

My aunt has been released from her cardiologist to go back to work after a year long battle with cancer. She won!

Megan is a craft beer lover and has been really awesome and given me some recommendations of what to try. First, I was gonna try RJ Rockers Son of a Peach. But my podunk little ass town didn't have any. None. I called 5 liqour stores (including a Macadoodles), 2 grocery stores, and a gas station, but couldn't find shit. So what did Megan offer to do...send me some in the mail! Bam. Love her. And I'm probably going to have to hit her up for her favorite pumpkin beer too! I'll look first though!

I've been at OG for a year. I got a nice little pin and the best part is that I should qualify for a bonus check. Bam! I can't wait to find out if I get it or not. And I got another raise from them also. It's only when I'm hosting but I'll take a raise. Hell yeah!

Blake got an awesome opportunity to go to Cincinnati with his job. He gets to go to Visa HQ to learn customer service for the brand of cards he represents. They only selected two people and he was one of them. When he comes back they're going to hire a bunch of people and he gets to train them on customer service. Hopefully this eventually leads to a promotion for him.

I joined a fantasy football team. It's mostly dudes. So I picked the name Tittsburg Feelers. I love it. Because I love boobs. But you knew that. Need a name? Go visit Sarah, she'll help you out.

I'm going to see Blake Shelton and Keith Urban in October. Maybe Florida Georgia Line if tickets are cheap enough. Eeeeep! This will be the second time I've seen Keith. I LOVE him.

This weekend is tax free weekend here in Missouri. Best believe I'm doing as much shopping as I can. I'm a little too excited.

It's almost time for our annual summer party at Blake's house. Shit gets crazy. If any of you wanna come please do! I love your faces. =)

Let's High Five and #backthatazzup

We made it to Friday. Woot woot. I work all weekend but managed to give my Saturday morning shift away so I can go to my niece's second birthday! I might find a way to sneak some booze in. That would make me super ultra mega fun and work would be so much better =). Let's high five some shit.

1. Last weekend I had Saturday off and we had a family day. It was nice. We went to eat hibachi, where my crazy kid tried sushi. I was proud of her. That's like I don't even know. Just major! After that we went to the movie theater and played in the arcade for a while. Then we saw Monsters University. I don't really know if it was good because Teagan can't sit still in a movie theater STILL. How long does it take??? After that we went to my Wife's bbq she was hosting to thank everybody for supporting her while she was dealing with cancer. Girl doesn't cook but she did good. I was proud ;). And then it was time for some fireworks! Busy Saturday for sure.

2. I went on a shopping spree yesterday and bought way to much shit but it was so much fun. A girl deserves to go shopping every now and then. And shop we did. I ended up with 3 new pairs of shoes, 3 new dresses, some hair stuffs, and panties. Panty shopping is fun. The only womp womp of the day was that I couldn't find anything on the sale racks. I can always find good sales with cute clothes but not yesterday. Everything I wanted was expensive! All I wanted were maxi dresses and skirts. I was in total fall mode too.

3. I went swimming on Tuesday. And got another sunburn. And it fucking sucks. But Teagan and I had a great time so it was worth it. That's why I took Wednesday off. After a sunburn I just want to sleep and cry. I only go out in the sun every 10 years, I told Blake to enjoy this tan because he won't see me tan for 10 more years.

please ignore how wide my leg looks. It happens when I sit down.

4. Wife and I went to dinner at Olive Garden Wednesday night (yes, even though I work there, it was her birthday) and I had a great drink. Seriously if you're ever at an OG again, try a Strawberry Limoncello Martini. It was great. I got a buzz. A buzz for an expensive ass price though. But it was sooo worth it. And I don't drink sweet sugary drinks but this was good.

5. It's school supply time! I seriously get so excited for this time of year. I can't wait to go to Target and buy a pretty new planner that I won't ever use. And 5254164 notebooks that I don't need. But I can say that they're for Teagan now!

And now...the moment everybody's been waiting for....

Yes, just yes. Now go on, shake ya ass. Just make sure you close the door so your coworkers don't see you getting your freak on. Or don't. Whatever works.

Take Me Back To Yesterday

Once upon a time I was an easily influenced little diva child. Not much has changed. I'm still little and I act like a child. I can even be a diva if I need to. And as a little diva child, I had diva music that I absolutely loved. It made me the little "adult" that I am now. I thought for #backthatazzup Friday I would give you some of my favorite songs during my childhood. And yes, they'll be all pop top 40 songs. I didn't have good taste then or now. Whatever. I have great taste now.

1. Wannabe - Spice Girls
As a kid, this was my jam. I loved the shit out of the Spice Girls. My friends and I would watch the movie and each be a spice girl. Back then I was convinced I was a "good girl" and wanted to be Baby Spice. Now, this songs comes on when I'm drunk and I pull the typical drunk girl "I LOVE THIS SONG. This is MY song!" And I want to be Ginger Spice please and thank you.

2. My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion
By now I'm sure you know of my obbsessiveness over anything Titanic related. If not, well I love this movie and I'd watch it everyday if anybody would let me. When I was little and Titanic came out, I loved it. And since it had a theme song of course I loved it too. I'd lose my shit over this song. Great taste!

3. Bitch - Meredith Brooks
I mean I didn't know exactly what a bitch was at 3 but whatever. I was at my great grandmas' house with my mom and grandma. Somebody called me a human being (or something like that. I don't remember and my mom won't text me back. THANKS MOM.) and I replied, I'm not a human being. My gma asked what I was and I said "I'm a bitch." They loved that. Not. I find it hilarious. I'm proud of myself for knowing these things at a young age.

4. Baby One More Time - Britney
UmmmDuh! Point me in the direction of a girl from 6-13 who didn't love Britney and every song she sang and I'll point you in the direction of a liar. Britney was my best friend. I don't even have words for how I felt about her. Her first cd is burned into my brain for the rest of time. I could make this list much longer but for the sake of not making you read a lot just consider every song of hers on here.

...Baby One More Time by Britney Spears on Grooveshark

Remember when our girl looked like this??

5.It's Gonna Be Me - N*SYNC
Yep, I was an N*SYNC girl. Back Street Boys? pshhh. They had nothing on Justin and his crew. But I wasn't a Justin lover. I was more of a Lance Bass kinda girl. Always and forever. And then there was Justin And Britney together. I died and went to heaven. My two favorites were together and my hope for mankind was at an all time high.

6. Waterfalls - TLC
I was little when this song came out. Like before kindergarten. But I loved it. I don't know why. There's a super embarrassing story about this song but it's so embarrassing I'm not even going to tell you. Just know you'd die. For days.

What were some of your favorite songs? Don't be ashamed, I wanna know!

Breaking News

So not last week, but the week before I took an early weekend from the blog. I thought it was necessary. You see, that week was the week that my wife finished her chemo! So of course a celebration dinner was in order. She made me choose between Outback and Applebees. Good food vs. Okay cheap food. Cheap won of course, so Applebees it was.

I bought her her first post chemo drink and it was a summer squeeze and it was delish! I got a long island of course. All that booze in one glass gets a good buzz going. Two glasses, I probably shouldn't drive home. That's my go to at AppleBees. Never had one? Try there first.

I should have probably edited her instagram name but go ahead and stalk her. She'll appreciate it.
Summer Squeeze

Our waitress was super sweet and gave us a free mini brownie sundae to celebrate chemo being over! But the wife doesn't like chocolate. Like hates it. But she choked it down like a pro. It wasn't funny but it was funny.

After dinner we went over to Blake's and told him he HAD to go get drinks with us. Normally on a school night he's not down but since it was a big deal he obliged. We were gonna go to B-dubs but decided to go over to a friend's house and drink with them. Funny story, Wife asked the lady friend of the couple if she wanted to hang out...and she didn't really want to. So Blake asked her husband and he said sure. We took his answer and ran with it. We took a 16 pack of budlight and a 12 pack of straw-ber-itas so we weren't empty handed. And we had great timing. Apparently there was no power in part of town. And they just happened to live in that part of town. We all hung out and drank and then the boys wondered off to the highway. I'm surprised they didn't get ran over. We had great girl time. Much needed. I didn't get any pictures because I couldn't charge my phone and we were all sweaty and gross anyway.

Wife wanted to go home by 1 so we said ok. And at 12:30 we headed to another group of friends' house. We had her convinced that she was going to be home by 1. We lied. We waited for an old friend of Blake's to show up. And he took forevvvver. In the mean time Wife was gettin it. Seriously, I highly suggest making one of your friends be sober for awhile and then take them out drinking. It doesn't take much and it's hilarious! I wish I could tell you all the shit that came out of her mouth. But it's not really blog appropriate.

See, our group of friends aren't really blog appropriate. But we're fucking awesome. And we give each other a lot of shit. So even if I told you, you wouldn't laugh because it's a you have to be there moment.

We got home about 3. Ooops. And we all had to work the next day. When we got home Blake and I took Olivia outside for about 5 minutes. We came in and Wife was fully dressed passed the hell out on the couch. She didn't even look comfortable. =) Love that girl.

Love him.

I told her I wouldn't post this but whatever.

Friends and shit.

And I have breaking news for you....
As of yesterday at 730 in the morning...

Wife is in remission!! No more cancer.
We're so happy!

My Girls

I can't decide which puppy I want to talk about today. I have the love of my life and my bestest friend in the whole widest world. Or, I could go with the idiotic brand new puppy. Maybe a little of both? That sounds like the plan.

I don't know if I've told you before but Trixie was quite the hellion in her youth. I know all puppies are, but Trixie was the worst. She chewed up everything. EVERYTHING. But she would never chew on anything while I was home. She is really smart like that. However, she's also as dumb as a box of rocks. How my dog has not died beats the piss out of me. I believe it's because she thinks she's a cat. I mean, she lays around all day and does nothing. She lays just like a cat and sleeps in places cats sleep.

You're probably wondering what could this dog have chewed up that's any worse than what any other dog has done? Well let's see....
Fish food and it's containter
birth control pills
pacifiers
shoes (like every other dog), a million and one shoes
chocolate
the crotch out of almost all my mom's jeans
underwear
tampons (fucking disgusting)
trash bags

And all of that is just becuase I left the house and she was alone. I try not to leave her alone very much anymore. I like my shit. But seriously, how does a dog eat some of that stuff and not have to have their stomach pumped? I'm not complaining because vet bills aren't the shit. They're too damn expensive.

But I wouldn't trade these amazing cuddles for anything in the world. No matter how much it chews up. My baby is my baby. And I love the cuddles. I need all the cuddles. I don't know what I'd do without her.

And then there's the new little dumb dumb I have. I don't even know what to say about that girl. She's a special girl. She finally has a middle name. Olivia Wild. And yes, I did name my dog after a celebrity. But she really is wild. Blake calls her a wild indian all the time so I thought it was appropriate. While she doesn't cuddle, I actually got her to for a little bit last night. It was nice. I just wanna show you pictures of her because I know how much you guys love her.

Get the phone!

That's her 2 week photo. She's gotten soooo big.

She looks just like Stitch from Lilo and Stitch.

Galloping

And the upside down sleep position.

This dog has to sleep upside down. It's so weird.

Why I Better Be Able to Waitress Where Ever I Want

Happy Monday cupcakes.

I had the longest weekend ever possible. Ever.

Server training was this weekend and jeeez am I ready for that shit to be over. I've had to take a beverage test, a menu test, a server test, a safety and sanitation test and everybody's favorite, an alcohol test. And not the cool kind that tells you whether or not you're an alcoholic. No, the kind that asks what to do when people are already intoxicated when they come to eat, or how many beers a shot is equal to. Tests, tests, and more fucking tests. I think I can tell you anything about the OG menu. ANYTHING. I almost cried myself to sleep last night trying to study for the beverage test. So many drinks to know. And of course, I could remember my personal favorites, beer and margaritas, but not a lot of other shit.

3 pages worth of notes front and back. And I wasn't even done. For one test.

I took my first table by myself yesterday. I did decent. I had three tables and after everything was said and done, bussers and bartenders were tipped out...I made a weasly 10 doll hairs. But it's better than nothing. I was so nervous on that first table. Instead of asking if they'd like cheese on their soup/salad I would say "would you like soup/salad on your soup/salad." I felt like an idiot. I've served before so why the nerves? WHY??? But the next table was much better! I even got them to take some samples of wine and they each had a glass too! So my alcohol sales are great. I would be great at serving booze. On a different note though, when somebody is offering a free sample of wine, why would you turn it down? I don't get it. Well, there are some reasons I get, but hello, please pour me all the free samples you'd like! And just so you know, you can get up to three free samples of wine at Olive Garden. Enough to get a good buzz going.

That's how I spent my weekend. Fun stuff, let me tell you. I'm not complaining though. Ok, a little. In the end it will be worth it. I hope.

I signed up for the Itty Bitty Beauty Swap over at Chaotic Goddess Swaps. I love make-up. Not that you would ever know because I hardly ever wear it, but a chance to get some more, I'm all up for that!

My swap partner was Courtney from Air Force Wife & Our Life. She sent me a pretty little package. Everything was wrapped in pink tissue paper...what could be better!

First she sent me this neat little compact! It's one of the ones where you pick out your own colors to put in it. I didn't even know that e.l.f. made this and I think it's pretty cool!

Obviously this isn't my picture but I told her I was in the market for a good nude lip color...and I love this one! It looks way more brown in the picture. It's perfect!

A regular and waterproof mascara duo. Schwing!

And this eyeliner pen. I'm kinda nervous to try it. I had a different one once and it was weird. It's literally like ink. I put my eyeliner on the rim of my eye and the one time I used the other one it got all in my eye. But, it didn't hurt Just scared the hell out of me and turned my eyeball black black for a little bit.

So thank you Cortney. You did wonderful!!

And in other blogger news...this building right here is a Chipotle coming to yours truly! Yes, I've never been to Chipotle. How am I even a blogger? I don't know. But as soon as it opens I'll be in line and then I'll blog all about it. When I get fat, it's your fault.

'MERICA'S Team

I don't know a lot about sports, but I do know that the greatest football team of NFL history is the Dallas Cowboys.

Why you ask?

Because my daddy said so. That's why

Seriously though, Sundays were spent watching Emmet, Dion, and Troy kick some ass. I still remember those Sundays like they weren't that long ago. He'd make lil' smokies and cheese dip. It was great.
When I was little, all I wanted to be was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader. There's something so fascinating about them. And those girls work hard. Have you ever watched their show on CMT? Nothing but hard work. I remember when I found out that I was too short, I was devastated. But I still love them.

And then there was that first time I went to the new Stadium. I was in awe. And how about the next time I went to the stadium and got to be outside of the cheerleader's locker room? That was my peak. I'm pretty sure it's all downhill from there. And I stood on the stadium floor, where a player has stood. I'm sure of it. It may have not been field but it was close enough for me.

Hopefully this will be the year that I get to go to my first ever NFL game. I have high hopes.

And if you argue with me you're also arguing with Venus, and you know you don't wanna do that.

Venus Trapped in Mars

and of course... #backthatazzup Friday!

Hot in Herre by Nelly on Grooveshark

Because I think I'm going through menopause right now. Seriously, all I want to do is take my clothes off so I can stop sweating. Guys, the ac is on, I have on a t shirt and shorts and I'm not doing anything. Just sweating my tits off. WTF!

This Is Country Music

I just got done watching Healing in the Heartland and my heart is so full right now. I can't imagine how I would be feeling if we hadn't gotten the tickets we tried so hard for. I love country music. I love country musicians. I was going to write this post for awhile now, but I have so many posts I need to write so I didn't know when. And today feels right.

Country music is more than "I lost my wife, dog, truck...etc." I know most of you won't believe me, but it really truly is. You're asking what is it then right? Well

Country Music Is
fun
believing
healing
family
friends
home

Yes, for me, country music is home. My earliest memories of this genre are recording a vhs (remember those) with country videos from CMT at my dad's house. Then dancing around to them with my little sisters. It's a family get together with the radio on. It's a good time. I love my memories of country music. Dancing with my little sisters, Keith, Kenny, Sugarland, Eric, Luke, FLAGA Line, Thompson Square, Eli Young Band, Miranda, Blake and the countless other's I've seen. It's even the classics (at least to me) Johnny, Shania, Trace, King George, Brooks and Dunn,Garth, Dolly, Reba and more. This article talks about what country music is and how it started.

*all quotes from here, click to see more*

I can't imagine not being a country fan. These artists are so down to earth. They are humble and proud. The music is more than partying, sex, and drugs. Although, there is some of that, you'll get more. I can't even put into words what I'm thinking. I just want you to give it a chance. And please, for the sake of country music, don't try and listen to Taylor Swift, that's not country. Listen to a song as you're sitting outside on a warm summer night. Listen to the words and how they probably fit exactly what you're doing/thinking/feeling right at the moment. I mean one of the most popular blogger shows right now is about country music. Yeah, Nashville is more drama than I like to think of when I hear my jams, but it really is about country music deep down. Basically what I'm saying is...I wouldn't be me if I didn't have country music. I love it. Yep. That's it cupcakes. Love it!
