Black Friday

I know that most of everybody is on break from blogging today, but I have something I need to say.

Black Friday is today. It conjures many emotions in myself. Before I start, I just want to say I don't care if you attend black Friday or not. I'm not out to attack or criticize anybody for any of their choices. This is just how I feel.

Since I was little kid I've gone shopping on black Friday (now referred to as bf because I'm lazy and shit). However, when I first started this shopping really didn't take place until Friday. As the years have gone on, the shopping has gotten earlier and earlier. I've gone for two years in a row where the deals start at 8 instead of 12 or later on the actual day of bf.

At first, I didn't really care. I just thought whatever. I mean it did suck to leave my family earlier than planned but I really wanted to go out and shop. Then, the year before last my anxiety started to kick in. I lost my mom at one point in time and really started to freak out. I couldn't get ahold of her for some reason. I knew we were in the same store but I just couldn't control my anxiety. I blew it off and then went again with my Wife, Blake, and Momma. I mean who doesn't love shopping!

And then this year rolled around. My Momma works at not one, but two retail stores. One of them being Toys R Us. She had to go to work at 430 pm yesterday. On Thanksgiving. She has to leave her family so that people can buy stuff. We'll get to that in a second. Anyway...this really upset me. I understand that people can choose what jobs they get and she knew that she would work bf when she took the job. But ya know, she has to pay the bills somehow and this is one way she could do it. At this time, how could anybody turn down a job, when so many people are desperate for one?

This has really impacted me. It's made me sit back and think. And maybe it's my more mature way of thinking, maybe not, but I really don't understand why people feel the need to leave a day of being grateful and enjoying good food, family, and booze (ok, booze on my end). I don't really want to have to leave my family to go out and get things.

Because that's exactly what I've done. I've racked up credit card debt on just stuff. I've bought three things that I really appreciate within the past two years. My wonderful crockpot, our firepit, and my dad and I's seasons of True Blood. Everything else I've gotten is just because I thought I needed it because it was on sale. I still have movies I haven't opened, let alone watched, pajamas that I definitely don't need, a pair of slippers I had to have only to find out they weren't even on sale! I bought all of this stuff because I couldn't differentiate between my needs and my wants. Not once did I buy anything for Teagan, honestly because bitches be crazy about their toys.

This year, Target has a great sale on a camera I really want. I don't have the money for the camera. But part of me really wants to go get it. I want to go get more True Blood and more Sons on DVD. I want to go buy that $4 copy of Great Gatsby because it was an awesome movie - and Leo, duh. But I just remind myself that I don't need that stuff. Blake just bought me a new camera for our anniversary. No, it's not a DSLR, but it's a camera that works. I have my dad's HBOGo password, I can watch TrueBlood whenever I feel like it. And yeah, Sons is expensive but I do have Christmas and a birthday coming up. If I wanted it that bad I would ask for it. But it's not enough of a priority to put on my list.

So honestly, do I really need any of these things? No, I don't. And I wish I would have asked myself this before I ever went and bought it. Because I know that these poor people working on Thanksgiving don't want to be at work. They want to be home with their families. They want to be able to eat all the leftover even though their yoga pants are already stretched to capacity. They wanna get drunk with their friends and make memories they'll have forever - well what they'll remember of them the next day.

I'm not against the actual day of bf. I'm against black Thanksgiving. If I didn't work on Friday I would loooove to go shopping. Maybe I could actually find some things to gift as presents. Maybe I wouldn't. I'm all for shopping when you feel like it. But from now on, I'll try and not go on Thanksgiving night. I will wait until Midnight. I may even do a little shopping online on thanksgiving night. At least I'll still be with my family. I haven't decided yet.

I just want people to realize what we have going on. Most people go out on Thanksgiving because they just want more stuff. Remember, that that "stuff" will still be there later. It may not be as good of a sale as it was, but if you really want it that bad, you'll buy it. Let's not turn Thanksgiving into an extinct holiday. I don't want to look back on these years in 20 years and tell my grandchildren (please I hope not) that Black Thursday used to be a day called Thanksgiving where people got together with their loved ones and enjoyed great food. It's not always been a day where people trample each other for stuff. That's what Black Friday was for. Let's all stay home until Friday. Then buy all the stuff you want.

Look At This!

Good Morning Cupcakes! Hope y'all can quickly adjust to going back to the daily grind! And I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! I missed this spot and thought about you all alot but so much was going on that I just couldn't bear to open my laptop. We have a lot of catching up to do. This post will probably be all over the place.

My Thanksgiving was really good. It was spent with my dad's side of the family and for once we all managed to get a long. See, that's a miracle. We're all outspoken and a little crazy so yeah, good deal for us. I drank some wine (maybe more than I should have) and it was delish! The food was really good. I don't like turkey and this turkey was the most moist flavorful turkey ever! I didn't take any pictures though. Sorry. Thanksgiving night wasn't the best though, my fur-sister had to be put down that night. I feel so sad for my dad and step-mom. Lucy was only 6 years old and she was amazing. There were lots of tears shed when this decision was reached. Until I see her again, I'll be seeing her in my dreams.

Teag and me. I did actually get one picture!

I was also a crazy and went out to Black Friday shop Thursday evening. The fact that it was on Thursday evening irritates me but that's a different post for another day. I took the wife, boyfriend and mi madre. We hightailed it to our local Walmart about 730. Sales started at 8 and I pretty much got what I wanted. I can't complain. Except some guy duped me and handed me the wrong season of TrueBlood. -.- That shit sucks. Boyfriend's crazy ass sat in line for a tv for almost 3 hours. He got it though! Not that we needed a tv. What is it about guys that they don't want something unless it's on sale? We don't need the tv. At all. But it was cheaper than normal so he HAD to have it. Whatever. lol. I looked at my receipt last night and learned that I didn't get some deals like I thought I did. So next year I will be doing more research because I spent way too much money to not get good deals.

Yeah I look like hell. Please excuse mr photo bomber back there!

Now, onto some awesome bloggy business! Awhile ago the awesome Natalie who runs Oh Emm Gee had a mug swap. I got paired with Annie at Annie Mayzing and she sent me the cutest mug!

isn't this cute! She made sure my package was fun to look at.

My adorable mug =)

A cute message on a clover shaped card...she paid attention ;)

and the teas she love that she gave as favors at her wedding

Thank you Miss Annie! And thanks Natalie! It was fun.

Kailyn at Wandering Free  and Jessica at Living My FairyTale decided that they would start a bloggy bookclub. I was super excited when I read about this idea so of course I signed up. We're reading Heart on a Chain. It's interesting. I had wanted to read it before this so again, I was excited. My review will come on December 17! Come link up for the next book =)

I think that's all for today cupcakes! Maybe I'll have an actual post tomorrow. lol.

Letters for Friday

It's been awhile since we've done Friday's Letters soooo why not?

Dear Boyfriend, I don't like the x-box. I love you though so I put up with it. Please find a new toy. lol. Sunday better not be spent attached to that thing. I'll karate chop you.

Dear Paychecks, Why can't you multiply before you hit my account. I'd like you more than I already do. Pretty pretty please??

Dear Teagan, Girllll...you missed three days of school last week, didn't have school on Monday, missed school today, and you don't have school next week. Jeeeez! It's a good thing it's only preschool.  Oh and I will miss you while you're gone next week. =( Have fun seeing auntie though!

Dear Work, Let's just get through tonight and the double tomorrow. PLEASE take it easy on me. But make it go by fast. I'm off Sunday and I'm ready to relax.

Dear Sunday, I say relax but that isn't going to happen. I've got a lot of homework to catch up on. So please go by rather slowly k!

Dear Thanksgiving, Ahh you're less than a week away. Come on and get here because I need an excuses to do nothing. Not even blog. Can't wait for you! I get to see my family and munch out! What's better than that? Oh and then you're followed by a day of cheap cheap shopping. Hells yes.

Dear School, I'm so over you. So over you. Blah.

Dear Weekend, I wish I could be more excited about you. True story.

Dear Blog Friends, I love your faces! You guys rock and I love hearing from you. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of excitingness that doesn't include working! Kisses!

I Waste my Money at Target

I had one of the most relaxin weekends in what feels like all of eternity. And it was great. I hope your weekend rocked as much as mine. I have lots of pictures to share! Maybe picture overload. Just maybe.

I was gonna write all about it in nice paragraph form but that ish way wayyyyy to long. So I figured bulletins would be the best way to go!

Here we go

Friday I worked. No bulletin for that because who really cares? It was a good night though. Probably because I knew I was off on Saturday.

Saturday was relax day. Seriously. It was wonderful because I didn't do anything I didn't want to do.
I did some homework that was actually a pain in the ass.
I finished 50 Shades Darker. It wasn't as good as 50 Shades of Grey at the beginning, but the further along I got, the better it got. And Christian Grey...I just want to talk about this man for a minute. He is so sweet and loving. Ugh. I have a love/hate relationship with him because of it. Like, guys don't act like that. It's the ultimate man manual. They want to know what a woman wants...here ya go dude. Like fo' cereal.
I know I told you guys about the wedding but we didn't get to go. =(. See, it was boyfriend's boss's wedding and he scheduled it during work hours. Even though boyfriend got the okay to leave early he couldn't. His co-manager's baby was running a really high temperature so he had to leave which is ok and boyfriend stayed.
But he made up for it ;). haha. He took me to one of our favorite restaurants, Mucho Mexico. It was good and when we left he treated me to a good Saturday night.

Yep, some bubly and m&m's!
The HUGE bottle of Dew is his. Yeah...

And I was drinking some of my wonderful wine...I see this

There's something floating in it! It's hard to tell where I circled...top of the glass
almost. It disgusted me. But what was I to do? Throw our perfectly good wine...
drink it anyway...well I fished that bish out with my fingers! Yep. Stuck
my hand in my glass just for a floaty speck. I chased it all around the glass.

That was Saturday. I passed out early...thanks a lot wine. Way to help a girl out.

Since I passed out like a puss Saturday, I woke up at the ass crack of dawn on Sunday.
Ok, it was like 8, but too damn early for a Sunday.
And I did what any girl would do...
I layed there and convinced myself I needed Starbucks and Target.

Here's my haul!

elf lip color it's a nude.
I've been looking for one and unfortunately this one didn't cut it either. =(

elf lip balm in strawberry creme.
I love it! I was acutally looking for say yes to carrots lip balm but they don't
carry the lip balm. Just everything else by that brand.
This is so far so good though.

I love hats! It's a cure for the bad hair day or I don't want to do my hair day.
And I don't have to have a pony tail.
This was just too cute to pass up!
I have a small head, it's in the girl's section.

And one more thing to get me organized...
I have yet to use it.
It's an expense tracker.
That I bought when I was spending...
Ironic much.

But seriously the Mead Organizeher stuff is brilliant! Can't wait to check it out online.
I'm off today and plan to use this just so you know.

And I did something kinda bad...
don't you go tell boyfriend...
and dad just save it. lol. I already know what you're gonna say..
I got a Target card. EEEKKKK! But I already paid it off.
And the limit is absolutley ridiculous.
I'm not even gonna tell you because I can't believe it myself.

And then there's Starbucks. See, I don't enjoy coffee. It's gross.
I'm a Redbull girl through and through.
But sometimes I want to be cool and have starbucks.
So after shopping I went and had a caramel apple spice drink.
OMG. It was heavenly. I was more in the mood for an apple cider drink
but this was the closest I could come. It was so sweet it made my stomach hurt.
It was just so good though.

Oh yeah, and I got this...

Since I finished the second one on Saturday I needed this when I woke up Sunday.
It's what I went to Target for.
Except they didn't have it so I bought all the other stuff instead.
That damn Target.
I read like 3 pages while I was at Starbucks...that's it. lol.
Had to have it and haven't even really started it. Sounds like me.

Ok, so maybe it wasn't picture overload but it was alot for me. Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend.
And here's to basically the best month ever...

I'm just so excited! Maple Leaf, Halloween, leafs turning colors, cooler weather,
my favorite!

And one more thing...those buttons over there...yeah I started doing a couple swaps.
I don't feel that I'm big enough or whatever to sell my button but I will trade.
I only want to do 3 or 4 right now.
And those girls rock! I love both their blogs.
Check it out =)

I'm linking up with
