A Kinda Sorta Resolution

Resolutions...everybody has them, not many people follow through on them. I'm one of the former latter. I wait until New Year's Day and then make some bullshit resolutions to "make my life better." Blah blah blah.

Well, as of last year, I gave up

on resolutions. I did choose a word of the year last year, and I did great with that word for the beginning of the year. I think if I do that again, I will make a plan as how to follow it. Or maybe I'll choose different words for different months. Who knows. Anyway...it wasn't perfect but it was better than making a resolution.

This year, I'm back to making a resolution. Except, it's not really. This year I'm going back to school. Yes, I made a reference about how I never went to class yesterday. I shall change that.

As I've said before, I've never known what I wanted to do with my life. I went to school for 4 years and I'm still 8 billion credits away from graduating. I think it was a combination of things such as I couldn't stand the school I was at and I didn't know what I wanted to do. I started as a business and comm major, then I switched to PR, then I switched to undecided, then I went back to business, and last but not least I wanted to be a paralegal. Yeah, that's a headache for me to remember to.

I've always been interested in the medical field. But not the blood, guts, and gore end of it. I can't handle that shit. I wondered about Hospital Admin but I realized that you never really get time off and that's not what I wanted to do with a child. And there was nothing else I could think to do. Until Christmas time. I decided that I want to back to school to be a pharmacy tech. I can't explain why I think it sounds like fun. It just does. It's not a job that I wanted where I can sit in my office and blog during the day (maybe someday I'll have one of those), but it is the job I wanted in the sense that I'm not doing the same exact thing everyday and I'll be busy on my feet all day.

There are 3 schools in my area that have pharmacy tech certificates. I have one that I'm waiting for them to call me back. It's also the one I really want to go. But it depends on $$$ too. I want to get a new car this year, and I don't want to have to choose between the two.

So yeah, that's what I'm gonna do with my life. For now anyway. Who knows where I'll be in 5 years.

That's for my dad. He loves Adam Sandler and watching Billy Madison is always something that reminds me of him. And the fact that he really wanted me to go back to school.

The First Day

Well, we can't look back now. My little person is off at her first day of kindergarten. I can't believe we made it this far.

I'm more than proud of her. She walked into that classroom and didn't look back. There were no tears, no upsets, nothing. Just her being a big girl. I can't believe that it's finally time for school.

I'm a mixed ball of emotions. Happy, sad, nervous, anxious, all of them. It's so weird to me. I can't wait to help out this year though. In elementary school the holiday parties were my jam. I remember that my momma would always come to the Halloween and Valentines Day parties. She didn't have a choice with the Valentines Day one. It's kinda my birthday. I'm ready to do that for my person.

I'm ready for this journey. Let's do it!

And I'm happy school is back in session. No more little shits at work, I can roam around Target and Walmart and not have to worry about them. Hell yes!

One more thing, this morning the weather was perfect fall weather. I'm talking sweaters and everything. Sounds about right! I'm more than ready, especially since school has started. IT'S TIME!

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree now does it?

And on that note, I'm out. Gonna take a nice nap because I can do that now. There's nobody to tell me otherwise!

A Lot On My Mind

I come to you with a heavy heart today. I have to make a decision - one of two things that I really don't like. A decision that could ultimately lead to disappointment from those around me. The second of two things that I don't really like.

I'm at a crossroad right now in life. When school starts in the fall I will have been in college for 5 years. I know, that's not really a big deal. Until I tell you that I'm nowhere close to having a degree. I know that's pathetic. I truly do, but I just don't like school. I don't know why, I think I'm just tired of it. After 17 years, it gets a little old.

But do I really want to give up? I know I don't. But I know how unhappy I am forcing myself to go to school. Last week during Spring Break I felt great. I didn't have to worry about school and work and making time for mini, and making time for me. I just had to worry about Mini and work. And that was so nice for a change. I've been very hesitant to publish this post. There are people who read this blog who won't be very happy that I may not go back in the fall. There will be people who aren't happy that I'm even thinking about it. They will be so disappointed in me and that hurts the most. Letting down those who care. I hate disappointing people. I aim to please, that's why I've been going at it this long.

I was in class tonight and thought to myself "self, maybe you're crazy. maybe you could finish but you'd really have to buckle down. and work less." See, I can't afford to work less. There's absolutely no way. And that makes me sad.

So the way I see it, I've got three options, a) I can just stop going and find a big girl job and be done, b) I can take a semester off to work as much as possible to save money and take a breather. After that semester I'll go back and least get something whether it be a degree or certificate, or c) I continue on the path that I'm on and make myself miserable, but at the same time, I wouldn't be disappointing anybody.

And about plan b, I know people say that once you take a semester off you don't go back, but I would hold myself accountable to going back. I'd have to. I know that I sure as hell don't want to work at OG forever.

Yay We Made It

Happy Friday cupakes! Sorry I haven't been here much. I'm trying to get back into the swing of school, work, and being a mom. If only there were more hours in the day. If any of you could make that happen I'd love you the most. True story. I'm gonna draft some posts this weekend! And maybe I'll have actual content. Have a fab weekend!

OHP

I was absent yesterday due to being an emotional stressed out crazy lady girl. I was supposed to start school yesterday but couldn't because mini me had pink eye. I got all dressed and ready, (ie showered, did my hair, put effort) yesterday then got a call from mini's school saying her eye was pink and crusty please come get her. BLAH. I was pretty bummed out. I don't even like school all that much but had convinced myself this was going to be a good semester. Here's my outfit

Do you know how hard it is to get to go to the bathroom alone sometimes? And when I'm in the bathroom taking pictures it's even harder. I won't ever be a fashion blogger. Fo sure. I look awkward.

So I wasted this good outfit on a lazy day. Oh well.

That's all I want to talk about it. There was more shit that irritated me but it's not worth talking about. On with some pins!

One Hundred Dollar Allowance...thinking about modifying this for my life.

Cat's right.

I'm doing this. Every week of the year, you save that set amount of money. A dollar the first week, two the second...etc. Doing this.

Pills of glitter. Just what I needed yesterday. Pop it open and have glitter everywhere.
