Over It List

I know I know...lack of posts this week is disgusting. I hate it. I really wanted to post yesterday but I was called in to work a double and I really needed to. No time for a blog. Blah I know! But I'm here today. And I have oodles of things I want to write about for once. Too bad I'm only doing one post today. Guess that I'll draft some up for the week too!

This morning I was scrolling through my reader when I saw Miss Sami's post on Thursday. It's an Over It List. She took the idea from Blair at Blair's Head Band but I just had to recreate it. Here's what she has as the definition of and "Over It List."

Halloween!

I missed you guys! Hope you missed me. We had the funeral Monday and yesterday I wasn't around a computer. I haven't even been commenting very much =(. Sad sad. But hopefully now I'm back in full blogger mode...we shall see.

I already told y'all what the weekend was supposed to look like for me but unfortunately it didn't go as planned. We didn't do the Cure for Cancer run =(. It's a long story. There's always next year! I spent my Saturday prepping for the Halloween party! It was extremely fun. Wife and I had to go shopping to finalize her costume for the FOURTH time because she won't listen to me. It's good though. lol. Wife, Boyfriend, and I had a blast. She hadn't drank in two months so she got lit realllllly fast. It was great! Boyfriend and I won the costume contest =). He won for scariest and I won sexiest. It was really unexpected! Take a look!

Today is Halloween and I just got an awesome phone call saying that somebody will close for me at work tonight. =) I don't have to rush around with the baybay now. I get to enjoy her company! But it is Wednesday so she has to go to her dad's for a couple of hours. I'll watch a scary something, hand out candy, and drink some vino! 

And it's also my third anniversary with boyfriend. Hence why we get excited for Halloween. I love him =) Unfortunately we don't get to celebrate tonight but hopefully we can go out this weekend. Maybe I can get him to go to the haunted trail down the road with me tonight. A girl can dream. 

I'll be back tomorrow with some pictures of the kid and something about saying No in November! No more hints than that no. Peace out kiddies.

Where's My Nap??

Sorry for the lack of blogs this week. My great grandpa passed away. He's in a better place now and my great grandma was ready to have him back. He will be missed dearly though. He was really sick and now he knows no suffering. Only happiness remains for him. =)


Alright...now for the not so seriousness...this post is brought to you by "Fuck why did I drink so much last night". Yep..girl's got a hangover. Effing tired. 

Yep, there we are in all our glory. Boyfriend would kill me if he knew I took this picture and plastered it on the interwebs. Isn't he precious in his pink and purple blankie. lol.

But I'll do it again. I don't even care. 

This weekend is gonna be crazy for me. I work tonight at 4 and I'll get off around 10...After work I'm making a 4 hour drive to Norman OK (Boomer Sooner!) to see my auntie. We're gonna participate in a marathon tomorrow. Cure for Cancer run by the Susan G. Komen foundation. Ok, we're not running, we're gonna walk it but we'll walk the shit out of it! 3.1 miles...go me. Did I mention that this ish starts at 830 in the AM. Yeah..and we have to get up god knows when to be there on time. Little sleep for this girl. After that I'll drive back home and put on my Halloween costume for a party! Super excited. Well...I was but that wife girl text me and said her costume isn't gonna work out. That's an issue because our costumes go together. Mine won't make sense without hers. -.- So yeah...I'm busy. And pumped!

I have some errands to run before I can leave tonight. And all I wanna do is nap. WAHHHH. 

Peace out homeskillets. Gotta get shit done. P.S...I'll be doing my errands dressed like a bum and it's completely ok. So if you hear about girl dressed in jammies stabbing somebody's eyeballs out it might have been me. KIDDING.

Maple Leaf Weekend

It's time for my weekend update. It was just way to much for a Monday though.

I had a great weekend! I was off of work all weekend long and I got to spend it with people who mean the most to me!

Friday night boyfriend and I went to another couple's house to drink too much beer and play crazy drinking games. Y'all ever heard of Presidents and Assholes? If you haven't I suggest you look it up. Normally we get  crazy drunk but because everybody had to get up in the morning we weren't passing out drinks like we do. I didn't take a lot of pictures. I did get this one though

This was boyfriend's hand...see I told y'all he can be quite evil. He didn't get this once...but TWICE! 

Saturday was the one and only Maple Leaf festival! I got all super excited for it just to be let down by the stupid parade. It was terrible. There were hardly any floats, the bands didn't really perform, there were two 15 minute breaks in the parade and so many politicians! I'm sorry but that's just not what I came for. And it's a long parade. Not some rinky dink bullshit...so it could have been better. I wanted to day drink and I think if I would have been day drunk it would have worked out better. True story.

I do have to say though, I was quite pleased with the company I had. Those six people with 

me that day really mean a lot to my heart and I wouldn't have had it any other way. 

I did take one picture during the parade too! We have a place here that makes dynamite. They had a float for the first time this year and it was really cool! I'd say best thing in the parade. 

Yes, that's confetti! They had "dynamite" that shot out confetti. Pretty fucking awesome if you ask me.

After the parade we all went to lunch at a local Chinese place. It was just ok. Why did we eat lunch at a restaurant when there is plenty of fried food to be had by all? Beats me. I didn't eat very much so that I could have the fried foods. See I had a fat weekend and I'm not ashamed. I ate whatever I wanted because starting yesterday I'm watching what I'm eating. Whole different post though. Let's look at my food intake. 

Ok, so this wasn't mine but I had a lick and it was good!

Roasted corn on the cob. Umm yes! I put garlic salt and pepper on it and it was delish.

Look at all that butter on the top of that paper towel. Mmmmmm. lol.

Funnel cakes...I never eat a whole one by myself. I appreciate not visiting the dentist.

Again, not mine but I had some. 

And finally day drinking...haha. Just this one though. I was too tired for more.

Seriously there was so much more I wanted to try. There was a caramel apple delight...it looked good! 

And I just love fair foods. I can't help it. 

We walked around and looked at the arts and craft show. Teag got a really cool name plate for her wall in her room.

She loves hearts, peace signs, and rainbows so this made her really happy. I think my daughter was a hippie in another life. 

And all I got was this 

A really super sore sunburn. 

And memories to last a life time! 

I seriously could not have been happier with my day. After we were done Wife and I went 

to boyfriend's house and hung out with him for a bit. Then we went to eat at Olive Garden with my aunt

for a great girlie dinner! 

Sunday was filled with some more family time! Auntie and I took Teag to a corn maze/fall festival type deal.

I was actually looking for a pumpkin patch but fell into the corn maze thing. It was fun. And we got to buy a pumpkin so now we finally have one! 

See how excited she was! I just love it. lol. 

And that was my fabulous weekend. I'm pretty happy about it. =)

This Is What I Do

I've told y'all that I'm a host before. And just like every other job, sometimes it's frustrating. Most often the customers are the ones that drive me bananas. I probably shouldn't be posting this but I'm going to anyway.

First thing - DON'T tell me you want a booth after I've already taken you to your seat. Come on! If you want a booth you need to tell us before because we follow a rotation. And then we have to try and figure out which server has a booth and who's going to take you. I know booths are more comfortable, but shit, you'll get food wherever you sit.

And that brings me to this...Don't be so picky about where you sit. Seriously....I don't want this table, it's in the middle of the room. Wahhhh. Cry about it. I don't like this room, let's go to a different one. This table is too big...I get that one a lot. OG has at least 2 tables that seat 6 in every room...sometimes those will be the only tables left and people refuse to sit there. Or they'll say "Well, there's only two of us, are you sure you want to use this huge table for us..." Yeah bitch, I'm sure. I wouldn't have brought you here if I had something smaller. Again..food tastes the same no matter where you sit.

Don't be rude to me. This encompasses sooooo many people. Like the people who think I'm dumb because I work at a restaurant. I'll ask for a name, and this is the response I get most of the time..."It's Anna, A-N-N-A." Ok, seriously? I do know how to spell. Don't treat me like a moron please. I work here because I chose to, not because I'm illiterate and don't have any other options. How about the people that refuse to talk to me. They're my favorite. They'll be walking out and I'll ask how their dinner was or tell them to have a great night and they refuse to acknowledge me. It's super sweet. They'll look right at me and keep walking. HELLOOOOO I'm a person...say something. lol. It's a good thing I have a filter or I wouldn't have a job.

Why do people come in and get mad if there's a wait? Hello, it's 630 on a Saturday night...what the hell else did you expect? They get all huffy and puffy about it. And then there's the person who gets mad because there's nobody ahead of them but they have to wait...ok here let me help you think of something...maybe I just sat my last open table. Please take your frumpiness about waiting for five minutes out my door. Come back in with a nice attitude please.

What's that you say...you need a private area away from children...I know that place...it's called YOUR HOUSE! Don't come to a restaurant expecting to be seated away from kids. Especially because it's a damn family restaurant. As for a "private" area....ummmm yeah let me just put each person who wants to eat in peace and suck face by themselves....wait...I DON'T HAVE ROOM FOR THAT! Sorry about your luck...it's your anniversary and you want to enjoy some quiet time with you significant other...ummmm they make hotel rooms. =)

I'm not your server. I don't get your money. Please don't tell me everything you want. I'll be more than glad to help you out a little...but I can't take your orders...I need to go back up front and seat some more people before they freak out and throw something at me.

You over there...stop letting your 2 year old run around this place. I have servers walking around with huge trays that are extremely heavy and have hot food and plates on them. I don't want little Tarzan to get hurt so step up and act like a mom lady. Yeah, it's cute the first time...after the 6th time though, I'm trying my hardest not to scream at you.

Yep...we still allow smoking...because this is the midwest. Smokers get to enjoy their fettuccine alfredo just as much as you. Yeah, I'll seat your far away from it. Don't roll your eyes at me when I ask if you have a smoking preference...just tell me non. It's not a big deal. And don't fake cough all the way to your seat as we're passing the smoking area. Get a life.

Look, this is the only interaction I get with people so please try and talk with me as we're walking to your seat. I'm not talking to hear myself. I'm trying to be friendly. And if you don't want to talk...well just give me a one word answer when I ask how your day has been. I'll get it from there. We don't have to talk but don't ignore me when I try and be polite. And get off your damn phone...you're here with people and you should pay attention to them.

Oh you have between 10 and 20 people coming in! Well that doesn't help me any. I need to know the closest number you can give me because I have to know which tables to set up and how many servers are going to be needed. And then there's more of you then you said and there isn't enough room...well shucks! Squeeze in because we have no place else to go! Hahahahaha.

Quite the rant...I know. But I really do like my job. Sometimes people just suck. I can't vent to them so lucky me it's stuck in my head all night. And I thought I would share with you fine people =) If I offended you, I'm sorry. I know there's exceptions to every rule! But fuck sometimes these people drive me crazy.

Glad I'm Not This Guy

Ever have a day when you wonder why in the hell you got up this morning? Not really a bad day, just more irritating and ironic than it needs to be. Yeah, that's my day today.

I can't find a babysitter for the second day in a row. This hasn't been a problem in the whole 4 years of my daughter's life. And all of a sudden this week it's an impossible mission.
I realized that I was late turning in an assignment because I forgot about it...and it was a group assignment so I was late for the whole group, not just myself.
I realized that I had forgotten to take a midterm exam online...It was due last week. So I go to take it and in the middle of it the internet shits out on me. Which in turn locks me out of the exam.

I actually had a funny post that I was going to do today. Now I'm just irritated and it doesn't sound like such a good idea. Hopefully I can post it tomorrow.

I really want to call into work but I'm not working all weekend and I'm the closer tonight so I shouldn't. I can never justify calling into work. As hard as I try. I have a guilty conscience. She's a bitch.

Only 2 more work days after today. I can do it. I can do it. I can do it. And then after those 2 work days I have 3 whole days off. And Maple Leaf!

I'm gonna go eat something. It's 1 pm and I've yet to have lunch. So I'll see your pretty faces tomorrow with hopefully a better outlook....It has to be. =)
